Here's our up to date guide of our favourite sustainable swimwearbrands you can browse through as you daydream about your upcoming beach holiday.
Generally speaking, conventional swimwear is made of nylon and polyester i.e. plastic, which as we all know will not biodegrade and uses petroleum. Not good.
We all want to improve our fashion habits and help protect the environment or at least minimise our impact on it so we've already got lots of eco-friendly, often very sexy and stylish swimwear for you to choose from.

Deakin and Blue
Deakin and Blue use sustainable fabrics made from 100% recycled and regenerated consumer waste materials and promote body positivity and work with environmentally and socially responsible suppliers and manufacturers who pay fairly and source ethically.

Influenced by Rupert & Fiona's childhood spent by the sea at Sydney’s Fairy Bower, they now split their time between London, Biarritz & Amsterdam creating a label that responds to a need for modern and beautifully constructed swimwear that retains functionality and ease of wear.

Brazilian ethical brand Florita makes sustainable beachwear that is produced under Fair Trade working conditions using Amni Soul Eco®, a biodegradable environmentally friendly yarn. All pieces are made in Rio de Janeiro
Leaf London was founded in late 2018 with a mission to provide a solution to those who want to look chic in the ocean, whilst also saving it. Starting from the very initial set-up stages of our brand, Leaf wants to lead a revolution of plastic-conscious individuals across the UK and the rest of the world.

Mylo Beachwear hand make crochet swimwear in Mallorca. Each piece is made individually upon request, so there’s a bit of a wait due to the manufacturing time. Mylo ethical swimwear are made from OKEO-TEX certified cotton.
Devon-based Davy J use 100% regenerated nylon yarn from waste including spent and ghost fishing nets. Their swimsuits are super high quality but wen they do reach the end of their life, you’re encouraged to return them so the brand can recycle them.

Made by Zanna Van Dijk and Natalie Glaze, Stay Wild Swim swimwear is made from ECONYL® reclaimed from landfill and oceans.
Batoko are a small independent sustainable swimwear brand based on the North West coast of England. Batoko create high quality swimsuits that are extra flattering and super comfy.
AMARATulum is a Mexican ethical swimwear brand helping to support local Mexican communities by creating livable-wage jobs. AMARA Tulum also organises beach cleans to help protect wildlife from plastic waste.
